When Harris Comics decided to commission
a statue of Vampirella two years ago they turned to
the man whose name has become synonymous with superb,
almost life-like sculptures of comic and television
characters: Clayburn Moore. The result was one of Harris
Comics most popular items ever: a porcelain statue
that managed to bring Vampirella to life in a way her
fans had never seen before.
Over the years," explains Moore, "Vampirella
has

been portrayed by many different artists, all with
their own artistic interpretation on this complicated
woman. The statue had to capture the true essence
of the character the athletic, but very voluptuous
and sensual vampire heroine whose very eroticism conceals
a strength and power that is lethal to underestimate."
"We were looking for a certain look," says
Harris Editor-in-Chief David Bogart. "Something
dangerous yet seductive. Clay definitely delivered."
